No country has successfully tackled TB in cattle through killing wildlife
Vaccination is the only way to tackle TB in any species
Owen Paterson is ignoring Defra's own scientific research
Culling badgers could make the problem of cattle TB worse
Badger culling will not help TB in British cattle

Anti-badger cull protesters to march through Manchester
A march protesting against the controversial badger cull, currently happening in Somerset and Gloucestershire, is to take place in Manchester on Sunday.
Several hundred people are expected to take part in the protest, which will form part of a mass TUC march taking place at the same time.
The badger cull has provoked a mass protest campaign, led by a unique coalition of wildlife and conservation charities "Team Badger", and has already seen protests take place in London, Taunton, Bedford and Kettering, as well as continual vigils at the cull sites.
Speakers at the Manchester protest will include Dominic Dyer, Policy Advisor for Care for the Wild International, a leading member of the Team Badger coalition. Mr Dyer said:
“Anger against this cull is growing by the minute. Despite overwhelming scientific evidence that says killing badgers simply won’t work, the killing of badgers is currently taking place, and will continue over the next few years if something isn’t done to stop it.
“We’re delighted to support this protest, and grateful to the TUC for allowing us to join with them. The Labour Party has spoken out against the cull and we know that many TUC members are against it. In fact, the only people who seem to support it are the National Farmers Union, a handful of key government ministers, and farmers who have been told that this is the only way to stop bovine TB. But it’s not the only way – and hopefully this Manchester march will convince even more people of that fact.”Trains
The nearest train station to the form up point is Deansgate Train Station. For those travelling to Manchester Oxford Road or Manchester Picaddilly, there will be police officers on duty on the day who will be able to point you in the direction of Liverpool Road and the march. Buses
Buses will be running on the day, however there will be some alterations due to road closures. These will be published shortly on the Transport for Greater Manchester website www.tfgm.com.
The form up area for unions will be signposted and this information will be circulated prior to the march.
The march is expected to move off at 12:15 and the route has been confirmed with police and agency partners.
It is: Depart Liverpool Road; Turn Left onto Deansgate; Turn right onto John Dalton Street; Continue over onto Princess Street; Turn right onto Portland Street; Turn right onto Oxford Street; Left into Hall Street; Continue round to Bale Street; Turn left onto Lower Mosley Street; Continue down onto Albion Street; Turn left onto Whitworth Street; Turn right onto Oxford Street; Continue down onto Oxford Road; Finish at Whitworth Park.http://www.tuc.org.uk/industrial/tuc-22405-f0.cfm

What is Team Badger
Team Badger is a coalition of national, local and grass roots animal and wildlife welfare organisations representing millions of compassionate citizens. We reject the government’s policy of badger culling as unsound, unscientific and unacceptable.
We believe the most effective and legitimate way to oppose the shooting of badgers is through peaceful and legal protest supported by reasoned argument, scientific facts and legal challenge.
We are convinced that the long-term control of tuberculosis in cattle can be achieved by the comprehensive application of a range of measures without resorting to the culling of wildlife.
